I'll always regret never having video footage of my skateboarding 'heyday' during my teenage years as there were so many sessions, tricks and locations throughout the 90's that would have been great to seen committed to film (particularly those switch ollies over the now-defunct bollards at the front of Sainsbury's car park).
Back in 1995 video cameras were expensive to own and my attempts to rent one for a week's shooting were met with apathy and disinterest on the part of my then skateboarding 'friends'. Apparently getting pissed on Hooch and partying was more of a pressing priority than recording memories for posterity. Such a pointlessly wasted opportunity but when you deal with such short-sighted timewasters this is the inevitable result.
Thanks Hemming & co....I'm sure those drunken, partying days that you can't remember now were worth the sacrifice :-/
The following is the only video footage that I own (I know I was featured in a short segment on one skateboarding video shot in Hull back in 1996 but I cannot locate this online anywhere).
This small clip was filmed back in September 2012 and, although far, far from the abilities I displayed back during the mid-90's, I was pleasantly surprised that I could still 'deliver the goods'.
Not too bad for an 'old' man :)
